Thinking for ourselves

Telescope left is the 36 inch from which the Crab optical Pulsar was discovered by Morgan and his colleagues back in 1969 and from which he saw and photographed his first galaxy i. The middle one is the 90-inch Bok Telescope from which Morgan studied galaxies by eye and which later led him to the whole business of Hidden Galaxies.
